Holloway and Axbrink International Productions Corporation Incorporated LTDTM brings you FIMBULVINTER.
This is a campaign myself and my collegue are currently working on, and frankly we're just wondering how much interest this would generate amongst the society.
It's a Pathfinder campaign based in an unforgiving climate with just as unforgiving inhabitants, enveloped in a complex norse mythology.
Our adventurers are required to survive the forthcoming winter which may very well be the onset to Judgement Day, however these adventurers are ill equipped and unexperienced in this unknown terrain.
If the idea proves popular we plan to run this next semester after the first society meeting. Let us know what you think, and if you're interested - how would you like the campaign to progress? Feel free to express any preferences on pace, RP and things like level progression.
Thanks in advance,
Tom and Simon.

I would be interested in this. For pace the sound of the setting would be a faster pace from the proposed story.

I have heard a rumour that you have been offered Becky's living room next year, is this true?

Simon here,
If Becky has offered I have personally not heard of it. We're planning on running this in the house we're signing a contract on today.

We don't have enough interest to fill a game as of yet. However, I will have to speak to Tom about it at some point (I am currently based in Sweden). Our thoughts are to present the idea at the first society meeting in autumn. As we know more games will be starting at this point I assume anyone showing interest around now may change their mind later on. We were curious to know if the idea was popular though, as we are both putting a lot of work into it.

Anyhoo, dependant on what day it is, i want to play- i've never played it before, but i have had pathfinder described to me as "a game for people that prefer dnd version 3.5 but not a fan of v4, its kinda like version 3.75" which is moi! But i think you live not far from me next year? so whether it be at your house or at mine or on campus - i dinnae mind. ^_^

Simon here, If Becky has offered I have personally not heard of it. We're planning on running this in the house we're signing a contract on today.Additionally, if it's next year I would love to play in the events leading to Ragnorok (which I assume this is). When it comes to it (if my timetable permits) I would be rather interested.

Yup, you've been playing Chinese Whispers with yourself. While I'm quite interested in the concept, I'm already signed on for 3-4 games next year and don't want to commit to any more until I have my timetable.

I'd like to have this thread moved to "Current games" please, as the players has just made it through the prologue.

A short resume: After being sold as slaves and branded with a rune in the neck you are broken out of your captivity but only as a prize in a raid. You escape your new masters and find yourself seeking refuge at an outlaw camp among the rebellious Grey Wolves.
You carry out a few tasks for their leader Thord and meet the rather strict elfish Spear Maiden Brynhildr. You also meet the rune master who branded you. He tells you that your bond is half-broken and that command has been passed on to the next generation and he is the only one who can free you from it.
The location of this mysterious “Heir” is revealed to you as you investigate an abandoned shrine in the woods you felt drawn to. He is going to fenrisvik. Getting into the shrine was trickier than expected and led to the death of the Paladin Joe and the Druid Koshk. Well inside Brunhildr got a blessing from Thrud and so did the barbarian Bob.
The half-orc Grok chose another path and got a blessing from the doomsday God of Fire; Surtr. The rogue chose to follow Vidar but was later killed by a mimic released by Grok. The oracle Cheech finally chose to be a follower of Tyr and bring justice to those who have done them wrong.
They then moved into the caverns where they were joined by the sorcerer Linnea and a Zen archer. The party decided to go on the hunt for a dragon which they killed but unfortunately Linnea perished in the battle. Bob took it onto himself to carry her to a healer in hope of resurrecting her. The party found a Cleric Priest by the name of Judas in the next village but he was too insufferable for the party to negotiate with. Cheech however devised a plan and agreed to his request of bringing him some religious artifacts. After recovering them and a mysterious man going only by the name “The Inquisitor” Cheech decided to renegotiate the terms of their agreement. While he was preoccupied the Spear Maiden tried to kill the priest by impaling him but he showed to be more resourceful than expected and brought the party to their knees.
Currently he has demanded to get the relics for free in exchange for not killing them. The party has acquired rooms at the local Inn.

Locked in a decision between saving their lives and pleasing their Gods the CLeric Cheech and the Monk Shelly went out into the forest to find the hiding place of the religious artifacts. They were followed by guards from the priest. When they reached the hiding place they were ordered to hand them over. They did so but when they were 300 ft away Shelly fired two arrows in their back. Tehy dropped the artifacts and tried to excape but just then the other members of the party stepped into the woods and took care of them.
One were kept for questioning but the inquisitor cut his throat when no one was watching. They were both buried in the woods. Finally, Bob decided to smash the stone slabs into bits. While this earned them favour with their gods it didn't get them out of their problem. Cheech decided to bring the bits back to the Priest.
The angered priest robbed them of all of their currency and told them to never come back to the village on the pain of death. The adventurers took the road to the west into uknown territory. They met a friendly dwarf called Rogar on the way who told them about the current state of affairs. More people were moving to the capital because a current political and religious turmoil. One of the feudal families were rumoured to be slain and the Son God worshippers turned up everywhere.
Rogar prouded himself over being a rune tattooist of some skill. Cheech showed hoim the branding on his neck. Rogar told him that it was a broken slave brand but there was still magic in it. He figured that they must now be bonded to the closest relative to the one who branded them. With this new piece of information the party decided to travel to Fenrisvik to meet the heir. They decided to travel with the dwarf to the town of Mellby.
On the way they met two beautiful gnome ladies who needed some protection on their travels. Bob decided to protect them. Otherwise the journey was uneventful.
Arriving to Mellby they said goodbye to the dwarf. Upon entering the town they witnessed an execution of a man found guilty of fornication witha wood siren. The man was still expressing his eternal love for her when he was in the gallows.
The party decided to go to the inn where they heard that there were a bounty on the siren as her charmed creatures has been attacking travellers on the roads to impress her and please her. Bob decided to try to collect this bounty and was soon joined by the other party members. His two female companions were very impressed. They accompanied him to his room.
Bob woke up the next day with both of them gone and a case of filth fever.
The party decided to take look at the house of the man who was charmed and executed. While finding no more clues than some footprints from a troll they decided to stay in the house while the snow subsided. Bob and Grok went out to chop down a tree for firewood when Bob was struck in the back by a troll. Grok roared and alerted his companions who came out to help him just in time to save his life. Brynhildr pierced its liver and brought it to the ground. Grok ended the battle with decapitating the troll so it would not regenerate. After the tough battle they went back to the hut to rest up.
During the night Cheech was attacked by a shadow which seems to have appeared from nowhere. A combination of cheech's holy magic, the inquisitors healing and Grok discovering that the glove he had found indeed had magic capabilities made the shadow vanish into thin air.
Setting out the next day they found an idyllic grove. It was green, without any snow and it the part felt warm for the first time since they came to this place. Before them was a beautiful woman. However, Shelly was not tricked by her charm and quickly fired to arrows at her. She managed to trick the inquisitor and Grok into helping her but the party still managed to defeat her even when she was joined by a charmed troll and a Drow sorceress. The other creatures left the battle when the charm was broken. Shelly did not plan on letting the drow go but she poisoned him and ran.
Grok collected the head and they went back to the village. Reaching the gates Bob was arrested for the murder of the clothier with several witnesses to the crime. He was brought to a holding cell in the town hall. The party is planning on proving that he is innocent.
