Two weeks had passed since the mysterious Gotia vigilantes had last been heard of and the citizens had started to relax, thinking life would now return to normal. They were wrong.
Odvard was happy for his return to nobility but hardly content. Aiming for the seat of the king he once again called for his champions. Answering the calls were a small dedicated group under the half-troll known as Grok. The events that followed after have been speculated on by many of my colleagues bu I personally feel that it is best to note what is what we actually know.
The group visited all of the nobles in the city, trying to gain support for the coming storting that was decided how history would develop from this point on. One event that was clearly described by many of the nobles was the battle between Grok and a frost giant that had been captured by Tott. Apparently the battle which was only supposed to be a show to wind up the spectators ended up as a bloody deathmatch after the Frost Giant managed to grab a weapon from his captors and toss them through half of the arena. With nerves of steel Grok engaged the giant before he could react. Eye witnesses have written in their journals that both of the champions were bleeding greatly from huge gashes caused by their great axes striking through armor and into flesh. Grok, while severly injured stood the test of endurance and brought the giant to his knees. In a triumphant roar he severed the head and presented it to a wild audience.
Some sources say that it was after this that the legendary hammer was recovered, but there are many versions of this story and it is likely that any sources that properly told how this was done has since long been destroyed.

As to how the hammer was located and obtained we can only speculate but what we do know is that it was for Byalbo it was to be presented. The hammer seemed to be more than he had bargained for which is probably why he didn't show his wrath when having his spoils taken from him.
Instead a new deal was struck. Byalbo had managed to acquire a potion of dreamwalking. This potion would allegedly bring you to the location of an object not on the same plane of existence and make you able to retrieve it in your sleep unless it is protected by magical means. A following of people drank the potion to find what Byalbo desired: the arrow of Loke. What happened in the dream state seemed to be a trial of chaos and randomness put forth by the God of trickery. There was meddling however by a man of unknown history to the party. After acquiring the arrow. The dark-robed man dreamed of another place, powerful enough to drag the party into his dream.
Odvard was to note in his journal that Grok was challenged to a test of his faith. His dual allegiances with Surtr and Thor led to a choice of weapon as his former Great Axe, turned to a Sword of Hellfire and demanded that Mjölner be smashed on an anvil. In the end Grok refused and the sword vanished in a torrent of flame leaving Grok with a seemingly worthless but massive hammer.
After that a multitude of tasks were carried out simultaneously. All of them are hard to bind to Gothia activity but there is evidence to suggest that the failed attempt on Archbishop Zethel's life was an act of Gothia-aligned Zealots. The suddenly missing Tott ship "Nidhögg" is a matter I wish to discuss in detail in later chapters.

I just heard that more players than Ryan will have difficulties coming to the game on Wednesday. I believe it be best that I cancel the game and instead have next game on Wednesday the 2nd of November.

The -Censored- witch Busby and the Ranger did not capture the boat Nidhögg as another group of boats from Tott arrived and boarded the ship, reclaiming it for their own. -Censored- Busby teleported them off the ship and onto the shore. Into Giant lands. They drew a small hut with their magic and decided to rest in it for the night.
Meanwhile, in Fenrisvik the summoner was scryed and captured by the templar and thrown into the ring of decision at the Storting. By some masterful negotiation by Odvard, and some peculiarities of Nordic law. The summoner escaped the clutches of the ring of decision and was free to roam the city once again. Grok met up with the gigantic man George who was impressed by his fight with the giant and wanted to spar with him for fun. Knowing full well the strength of George Grok first did not want to but Odvard convinced him it was a good idea. While walking with George Grok discovered the location of the blueprints they had been looking for and told Roger about the discovery.
The ranger and -Censored- Busby were rudely awoken by two giants throwing rocks at their hut. The -Censored- witch quickly reacted and teleported them both to safety in the mansion of Gothia. With everyone gathered they decided it was time to retrieve the blueprints. -Censored- Busby as a central part of the plan which involved teleporting into the location and snatching away as many blueprints as possible. Attempting this they managed to get 24 blueprints before they got to safety. None of these were the part they needed.
Templars, being sick of people trying to break in and steal their stuff all the time tracked the location of the blueprints to the Gothia mansion. The only face in the mansion they recognized to be tied to the thefts was -Censored- Busby who they swiftly captured before he managed to escape. Busby were thrown into the ring of decision and it was proven that Nordic law saw much stricter on this kind of action. Before he was sentenced to death, however, -Censored- Busby, tipped off by Odvard, requested the right of trial by combat knowing full well that he was going up against the mighty paladin George.
George stepped into the ring of decision, knowing full well that only one of them could step out in life, in this death match. Everyone expecting a tough climactic battle was sorely disappointed by the -Censored- disgrace of a -Censored- skirmish they got. -Censored- Busby kept incapacitating George with -Censored- charms, -Censored- paralysis and -Censored- hexes to keep him unconscious and out of combat. Having no way to actually kill George -Censored- Busby kept -Censored- sleeping and recovering his spells for -Censored- 5 days in the circle while trying to figure out what to do. During the whole -Censored- time, George was -Censored- frozen into a -Censored- block of ice, in his -Censored- underwear, as -Censored- Busby had -Censored-ordered him to take off any -Censored- item of clothing he was wearing. Finally -Censored- Busby decided to prepare as many -Censored- phantasmal killers as he could and kept -Censored- casting them every morning in the hoped that George would finally fail a save. Which he did after three days of this -Censored- travesty of a -Censored-deathmatch.
-Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored--Censored-. I hate you all.

PS. You know I really love you guys. But seriously no more 8 day death matches.

Some people speculate that there was some kind of underhand dealing between the master smith Luther and the Juta nobles which led the Norse to finally acquiring the knowledge of how to refine iron into pure steel. While such a scenario seems highly likely from an outside perspective I have been able to compare accounts from different templars that when put together tell another story.
There is little doubt that Luther was last seen before his death entering the Gothia estate. There had been bad blood between the Gothia and the Christian missionaries for some time and it is unlikely that he went there on a mission for peace. Whatever happened in there it caused two templars and the smith to go missing without a trace. It seems too much of a coincidence that Juta would figure out how to manufacture steel and strongly support Gothia in coming Storing negotiations shortly after this happened without it having had something to do with that mysterious visit. I personally would speculate that the smith was called to the Gothia estate by temptation of riches if he gave up the secret, was then brutally tortured for hours until he gave the secret up and then killed to cover it up. Whatever really happened we might never know but it certainly would affect the future significantly.
While all this happened the duel between Master Everwind and the templar George had continued uninterrupted. The fight had turned into a morning ritual for everyone who was still interested (and interest waned fast) to see if Busby would manage to slay the frozen solid templar. So far there was no end in sight and the Storting went on at very slow pace with the Ring of Decision occupied by the two duelists. It would come down in history as the longest (and most boring) duel of all time.

The End of an Age
Dim light from the candles at the preacher's chair flickered across Zeleth's face. Despite the light being dim and orange-red to the colour it did not cover up the fact that he looked as if he had aged three decades over the last two days. He had good reason to. First the betrayal of his closest follower, whom he had loved despite his short fuse and error of ways. Then shortly afterwards his death at the hand of the enemies of the church. This wound was the one that stung worst for Zeleth as he had treated Judas Mikkelsen as a son of his and he could never be replaced.
Tragedy keeps company, however. This one did not rest until it had taken all of his followers with it, his life's work in Scandia and finally half of his templar forces. He was tired, and old. His remaining templars frightened and losing all hope.
He ended mass (which was now only attended by the templars which were not on guard duty, thanks to the new king) and then sat down on the stairs to catch his breath. Patrick walked up to him and sat down beside him. He put a glove on his shoulder to show his support. Zeleth coughed, it was painful and he felt weak because of it but he could not show weakness in front of the men. He may be over 70 years of age but he was far from a frail man.
"You miss him, don't you?" Patrick started. The answer was obvious but the question showed that he cared. He nodded "Even the time I spent arguing with him. I could not help but to admire his passion, in time, he would have been wiser than any of us. It is a shame that the Lord saw fit to take him away from us before his time."
Silence fell for a time as nothing really needed to be said. Then Zeleth asked "Are we expecting them to come again?" Patrick nodded. "Lord Vuug will not stop until everyone of us is dead, but I will not speak of it in front of the men. I will apologize for I did something you might not approve of. I sent word to the pope. The crusade will be ready to start in a matter of a few months. I know you did not want to do it this way but I saw no other choice." Zeleth knew this was to be expected but the realization of it was still painful. "So there will be war then. As if we did not have enough difficulties with the Saracens in the south." Patrick hesitated. "Perhaps if we said we were willing to Parley? We might be allowed to leave with "The Grail" and we could return with Simon and the others?" Zeleth sighed. "It is worth a try but I assume the King has left all issues concerning us in the hands of Lord Vuug and I don't think he'll allow us to retreat. Send word in the morning though, it can't hurt."
Patrick rose up in front of him and bowed. "I will do that. I am sorry but I will have to ask you to move now as we need to set up the barricades. In worst case the altar area will be our last line of defense. May God protect us." Zeleth picked his mace up one last time. He had lived a long life. Now he would go out with a bang.

From a front window most people will see nothing as the angle does not permit for viewing who is at the door but for a man who can see through anything even the window is of no relevance. A young man of normal clothing is standing at the entrance. He has no sign of allegiance to anyone of any kind that you can recognize although he is carrying a sealed parchment. You have not seen the seal before but it is depicting a triangle divided into three equally large smaller triangles. He is not attempting to conceal the parchment and he is not concealing any weapon that your eye can detect.

The boy jumps at you opening the door, obviously lost in thought or simply just afraid of your presence. Collecting himself seems to take longer than one normally would in his situation as if he's expecting you to react with something more than just acknowledgement. When dissapointed he raises his arm with the sealed parchment. He stretches it towards you.
"I am expected to bring this to the Mugin" He stops himself and shakes at the bare mention of him. You have heard from the servants that his myth have been even more exagerated over the last day. Some peasants know thought the could turn into a dragon and that he could summon flames from the ground with a mere command. He was thought invulnerable to blades crafted by humans. You imagine that these rumours is an accumulation of the achievements of your group into one single person. It would seem difficult for anyone, even you to, to achieve something great in his shadow without the honour falling to him, save for your paintings, of course. No one believed Grok to be the artistic type. The man looks over your shoulder. Easily achievable because of your stature. "You will bring it to him I hope?"
