Throughout the City, posters were appearing. Something was happening in town. Something big. Something Grand. Over in the entertainment district, the huge new building was nearly complete.Covered in scaffolding, no one knew what lay beneath. Only rumours could tell you. Some people were saying it was a dungeon, some a palace, some a statue and some where saying it was an arena. Soon, all would be revealed. For now, people were just left curiously waiting... Wondering what they were wanted for... And who was that Orc with the strange cloths on the poster?

News had been spreading. The huge new building was to be unveiled today. As the crowed gathered around the building, the rumours spread even more. Still the old rumours persisted, along with new ones. 'It's a giant dragon they've captured. They've built a cage for it's going to teach us ancient lore!' 'I hear they've opened a portal into another dimension and its the opening and they'll charge you to go through. On the other side you'll be immortal y'know?' and other ridiculous ideas were whispered between the onlookers.
Once a sizable crowd had gathered, a tiny part of the building was unveiled. A stage. Right in front of the intrigued population. An Orc walked out, the same Orc who had appeared in the posters.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ORCS AND GOBLINS, DWARVES AND ELVES, HALFLINGS, GNOMES AND ANY OTHER RACES REPRESENTED HERE; FIENDS, DEMONS AND MONGROLMEN, LEND ME YOUR LUGHOLES AND SIMILAR SOUND RECEPTACLES! My name is Baron Montgomery Von Tlagg, and I welcome you to the grand opening of the new COLOSSEUM"
As the Baron spoke the word 'Colosseum', the drapes over the building fell off, revealing a magnificent piece of architecture, on a scale unseen in these lands or the next. It rose imposingly out of the ground 120 or so feet, and stretched 450 foot across. Not even the palace was on such a immense scale.
"The COLOSSEUM! Where battles shall be battled, fights shall be fought and Glory shall be GORY! If you fancy yourself a fighter, revel in rogue like abilities, dabble in druidic practices or use your sorcerous powers to much success, I WANT YOU. Sign up now to take part in the First Annual Arena Tournament. We will take anyone, of any race, profession or background, and try and match you up evenly. Rules shall be posted on our boards soon. In the mean time, enter the reception and fill out an entry form!"
The Crowd, which up until now had been in stunned silence, suddenly broke out into a loud cheer and applause as the Baron took a charismatic bow and left the stage...
As he entered the building, his advisers met him 'Great show sir', 'Magnificent performance Baron!', 'You really held the crowd and wowed them sir!'
He only said one thing It has begun, prepare my champions...
