Ummm, why is there a sub board for certain games in the current games section?
Not gunna lie, it makes it seem as if those games are more inmportant then the rest of the current games. Really not a good idea imo.

Those are for games which require multiple boards, and it's on request. Hardly unfair on anyone.

Because some games need more than 1 thread It just means that it's tidier and if someone is playing that game, all the threads are in the same place

Additionally seeing as everyone comes on to post on the games they're in anyway it hardly makes a difference. Not like anyone goes "oh no, that game looks more important than my game". Some of them are also for play by post which requires multiple threads per game.

Did the board as a whole decide this? Because i spoke to the president of the society and it seems he didn't like the idea too.
To be honest, in my eyes it does make those games look more important when you first look on that page- it should either be ALL of the current games get sub boards, or none- not a select few. Maybe there should just be a subsection for play by post games.
Don't get me wrong i'm not just randomly having a go, i just think it's not a good idea at all.

It's not a "select few." It's for every single game that the GM or player(s) want it for. As Antony and Sarah said, it allows us to keep games tidy, particularly ones like the Play-by-post dinosaur game, and Antony's apolcalyptic science game - the posts are kept coralled in for those it interests, making them easy to find if one is interested / easy to avoid if one is not.
The only problem is that it is an admin-only function, otherwise it would be open to all users just like the ability to create normal threads. If you want a sub-board set up, simply ask a moderator or admin and we'll get it done pronto, no questions asked.
If you like, when we / I put together our "welcome to the new year" post, I'll mention that sub-boards are available to all.

I'm sure if Terry had an issue with it he would raise it with the board. Additionally, if someone does not want a whole folder for their game which will be one thread in size then they are should be allowed to do that.
As there have been no complaints from any GM's I don't see what the problem is.

The more I think about this the more I think the forum needs a big reorganistaion and clear out.
My problem with the sub boards is there are a couple that only have one or no threads in them and as they don't work like threads they will just stay at the top even if they are not being used pushing threads that are being used further down and even if those threads get there own sub-board they could still be lower down. though this isn't a problem at the moment as there are only a few sub boards it could be if we end up with 20 or 30. Is it possible to have all the sub-boards in another sub-board? I think this would help tidy it up and stop the sub-boards from pushing the normal threads down the page.
I'm thinking we should have a rules board somewhere as well and in that we could have how to ask for a sub-board as it's not that clear at the moment.
also the whole current games board needs a clear out as almost all of the games in there should be in the old games board.

Yeah the empty sub board is my fault. It simply hasn't started yet and will need multiple threads. nested boards sounds like a good idea tbh. You guys should have a board meeting

Item number 2: There aren't enough awful puns on the board.

Sounds like a good idea terry, plus i was talking to alex about this. As long as people are told at the first meeting that they can have a sub board (or soon to be sub sub board) to themselves then i think it's fair Also, i have another suggestion but i shall put that in a new topic
