Hi all,
I know it's over two months away, but I figured it'd be worth getting this organised sooner rather than later.
The plan for Fresher's Fair as it currently stands will be to have our stall set up same as last year, hopefully with the banner we made, and books arranged for viewing on the table. Someone (not me) will hopefully provide a laptop for registering members, and we'll keep a tally of people interested, along with their contact details so we can nag them incessantly until they join. Competitions like the dice-jar thing, along with snacks and the like will hopefully also be present.
What I'd like to do is get an idea of who'll be there - I will obviously, and hopefully the rest of the committee will too - but more people will help us market ourselves better. Anyone's free to drop by and lend a hand, but if anyone can definitely help mind the stall for most of the day, that'd be awesome.
I personally think a good post-Fresher's thing to do would be demo games, much like last year - only hopefully with a greater degree of success. I'll keep a tally below of who's willing to run what in the weeks following Fresher's Fair - any newb-friendly GMs willing to run simple and not-too-obscure systems would be very much appreciated.
I'd also like to hear any ideas you guys have as to how to make our stall stand out. Competitions, ways to drag potential members in, etc. Please post below.
Finally, there's the question of a logo and flyers. We've existed for three years now, but still lack any defining symbol beyond a D20 to put on things like leaflets and our banner. If any prolific artists among us have ideas for a logo, please let me, Terry or Owen know; or post it below.
Cheers,
~Alex
