Thought I'd create a thread for people to post suggestions for next year. there are a number of things I'd like to do including - More books and equipment
- Monthly meetings
- better access to books and equipment
- That Machiavelli thing I suggested before
so what do other people want?

Stickied the thread! This is suitably important after all.
In response to owen,
Why not find people willing to teach games like Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh?
The rules are reasonably complicated and they are hard to enter at a competetive level without experience and research.
With some tutorial sessions on rules (and their complications) and some advice on making smart combinations of cards any tournament would be far more interesting and competetive.
Something I thought of back in year one was DM/GM tutorials and faqs for new GM's on how to run games and certain pitfalls to avoid, at the time I was going to run it but it never ended up happening. Potential difficult to implement due to the subjective nature of the topic but could be stellar if done well.

What are peoples' thoughts on things like this (for this or next year, apparently it's the same date and place each year): www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/

I think we def need a regular society spanning event to keep us together, the machiavelli thing that terry likes or maybe even uni larp like the fraine idea kind of thing.
Also an idea i have been harping on about is the making of a dungeon then getting groups picked at random to run through it, maybe with prize for fastest of furthest in they get.

Hi there you guys, I really think it is possible for us to meet every 2 months (or even monthly) and do some actual roleplay! The solution might pass along the lines aturin wrote: Also an idea i have been harping on about is the making of a dungeon then getting groups picked at random to run through it, maybe with prize for fastest of furthest in they get. It could be an arena, each player playing the role of a gladiator and fight to the death. Or it could be a stealth contest, each player being a thief trying to escape deadly traps and catch a treasure in the end. Or it could be a mage duel. (not the MtG type ) Or it could be set on a futuristic scenario - you name it! Each new meeting we could name a different team and let them come up with the motif...! A different idea would be to just do one-go scenarios. We could have 2 or 3 storytellers each meeting just running a simple adventure each for pre-made characters for the players that would come up. It didn't have to be more than that - and still people would play and try different scenarios and different GMs each time. I mean, if you're meeting every week to play your own campaign, on a well known setting, I'm guessing you'd like to meet up and play with new people and learning new games - right?
