Bio:
Average height.
Full head of hair, grey colouration accompanied with stubble, darker grey colouration.
Light blue eyes - friendly, trustworthy, wise and kind.
Requires glasses - thick rimmed and heavily short sighted.
Clothing - Smart tweed suit and a walking stick (which is for show only).
Benedict Hemmingway’s childhood was like most from a very wealthy British family. Best cloths, newest technology, but most of all the best education money could buy. He studied in one of the systems best universities to follow in his father’s footsteps. Both his parents worked with technological advancements for many of the major corporations at the time, as consultants. It was expected of Benedict to also do this. However Benedict liked studying, teaching, the sciences and books. He had no interest in technology and changed his course almost immediately without telling his parents. Inevitably his parents found out and they were outraged to the extent that they cut him off from the family and public shunned and shamed him.
But it was too late. By this time Benedict had already passed his first course 2 years sooner than expected and was well into his second. Once the parents cut of the finances, the university had a choice, either to keep him on or throw him out. He had made friends with many of the Deans and professors and they knew full well how good he was at studying and considered it wise to grant him free access in exchange for later employment. So Benedict continued his studies and at the same time started working as a professor. Continuing to work and study simultaneously he quickly became known in the ‘education world’ as one of these centuries’ best academics, this caught the attention of the social elite.
Soon after, offers were flying in from ridiculously wealthy families to home school their children. Having achieved everything he wanted from the university he accepted and started working on various planets for various clients. Lots of time was spent in hypersleep. His body, though he was aging looked younger than it perhaps should have done due to this. He quickly gained a reputation. And a good one at that, due to his clients influence. “Professor Benedict Hemmingway, this centuries most sought after academic”. More recently he has been guest speaking at various high class ‘only money can buy’ educational establishments and teaching this current generation of ‘top’ academics. More recently the USM asked for his services on a variety of missions. The USM proceeded to 'freeze' his bank accounts when he first refused to help them. A little incentive to leave his life behind and do the bidding of the USM if he wants to retire on a substantial sum of money in the future.
(Doing some math here... you may be thinking that 54 is pretty old, however the most part of Benedict’s life has been traveling from planet to planet and system to system through use of hypersleep. Without being too specific I am guessing that his body is that of a 40 year old.)

Before heading over to the launch deck. I use my time researching our current situation. (About 3 hours).
(I wish to use my Research skill to find out any information regarding:
1) The System we are in. 2) Any colonization reports - the progress and status of them. 3) The USS Emerson 4) The science that might have been carried out on the ship (Emerson)

To do your research you find it easier to go up to the science deck, where you-ll have access to all the information Dr. Brightman has collected so far, as well as the Mother's library - in digital format though. Still, you do get some more information out of it: Now, you would do fine in presenting yourself in your military uniform. The Commander already accepts not calling you by your military rank out of your "uniqueness" but if you show dressed in a tweed suit he might just snap... (Never thought on using this for Out of Character text. What a great idea! I used to do it after an horizontal line or with grey background... But I think I'll make it official! )

*I get a slight nagging feeling in the back of my mind.*
Maybe I should actually wear my military uniform for this mission... Of course I'll still take my walking stick with me.
After researching I head down to the launch bay, turning up just as we need to leave. Not enough time to socialise.
