I reserve all rights to be as dishonest, shady and downright dastardly as possible. And i'll deny I ever did it to the grave. In.

I'm in, as you know. We could even try to get a Halloween one going if we move quickly. A murder mystery is sort of a halfway house between LARPing (Live Action Roleplaying, dressing up as characters and hitting each other with foam swords) and normal entertainment for Normal People. The basic concept is that you play a character who turns up to an event for whatever reason, where you discover (drumroll please) that someone has been murdered. In addition to your own goals (which will be stated in the character description you are provided with - clear up your debt with Mr Loanshark, hide evidence of your sordid affair with Miss Townbike), you attempt to find out whodunnit. One player will be told that their character was the murderer, and they spend the evening trying to avoid / dissuade suspicion. The game normally takes the appearance of a dinner party or formal get-together for the often well-to-do characters, so snacks, drinks and entertainment are provided by the host. It's normally set in a certain time period and participants are encouraged - but not obliged - to dress up accordingly. If done well they are enormous fun and relatively easy to organise. We intend to run a Christmas-themed one in December for certain, but may run more if there is interest. ~Alex

That sounds interesting, never had anything like LARPing or anything remotely resembling it back home since we are all to afraid to think what the normal folks will think. I would like to try it out if I can.
