Lore update:
The free city's political system is a convoluted beast with a cascading chain of command all with their own intentions.
At the top is royalty. The family that founded the city remains the owner of the land. They rent all the cities land bar from the palace to the Administrative Council. The administrative council commands the guard and dictates the cities laws, which all must obey. These can be wiped by royalty.
The Administrative council leases their land to others who may also define the laws for their own area. This leads to permutations in legality. Only district guards support the laws for that district, as a result city guards only deal with "High Crime" such as murder, theft or rape. Local guards may deal with prostitution or any other laws that are specific to that area.
This legal system has led to some strange abstractions of crime. In one district it is legally required to surrender your purse to any masked official if it is not concealed and appropriately stowed.

Since I'm not familiar with much of the contents of the booklist, I'll have to ask; is Hexblade on the OK list?
The playstyle interests me, and from what I've read it would be relatively easy to integrate one into a party with Alex's paladin (as opposed to a regular paladin).
I'd rather not think further into it until I have a yea or nay, so that's all for now.
edit regarding lore update/ It's America in a city XD

Hexblade's cool with me. Looks like we're going to have a fun party - we've got overlap, but in a good way. Now we just need to hear from Matt.
In regard to lore / law, who makes up the Administrative Council? I assumed it would be a representative for each district, but then realised that would mean there would be an orc councilman, and a goblin one, et cetera.

The administrative council are a group of well to-do rich individuals whose families were some of the first after the founding. A noteable exception is the Artificers Guild which owns it's own district and is not under the Jurisdiction of the Administrative council.
Regarding matt, he seemed to have delete his forum account and recently re-made it :s so I assume we will see him shortly.

Got a text from Matt today. He's back, but having computer problems. Anyhow - he'd like to play a full fighter. This may lead to a slightly more martial-focused party than expected, in which case (if it's a problem) I might rethink my concept. But we can discuss this in person at some point.
When were you planning to run this?

Ack, sorry. Just looked at my phone.
I'm guessing Matt changed to Cleric, as those are not exactly decent fighter stats.

Ah, fair enough. Are you free tomorrow afternoon, incidentally? Sarah and I are meeting up around 2, but if you can spare about half an hour I can get my stats rolled.
