Welcome to my second Star Wars campaign, guys and girls. Let's make it a good one. (As always, the following should be visualised in scrolling golden text against a starfield background)
It is a dangerous time for the Rebel Alliance. Months of planning, countless skilled pilots and the work of one young moisture farmer have allowed the rebels to win a crucial victory - the destruction of the Death Star and the death of Grand Moff Tarkin, the man who ordered the destruction of planet Alderaan.
However, the Empire is far from defeated. Rebel celebrations are to be short-lived, as the Imperial Starfleet prepares for a retaliatory strike on Yavin IV, the rebel base. Even as the evacuation begins, Imperial dropships are inbound to the forest planet. They will arrive in little under an hour.
All that stands between the fledgeling alliance and the Empire's might is you and your comrades. The imperial ground assault must be kept at bay, but the evacuation ships are virtually undefended against the sea of TIE fighters waiting in space. What do you do?
This is, in case you couldn't figure it out, a Rebellion Era campaign set quite literally a few minutes after the end of A New Hope. I will stress that this is not going to be a military campaign, so feel free to make non-military characters - the alliance does not have time to hand out promotions for good adherence to protocol. Combat capability, however, is advised. You'll be starting at Level 1, at the rebel base on Yavin IV. Looking forward to character generation. ~Alex Characters: Becky: _________ Adele: _________ Lukas: _________ Anton: _________ Peter: _________

Looks like the best day for this would be Tuesday evenings, 6pm onward. Any objections?

You're not allowed to ask questions like that in my campaigns.

How about the question of why there is a need for him to be up there? Dont they have droids for anything he could possibly be doing?
And now if you'll excuse me i am off to write up a fictional back story involving a small flightless bird who can use a combination of his mind and a giant gestalt of all dead creatures to drain batterys and uses a light sword.

I would be very impressed if it was a Darth and Droids style campaign, but I don't think that would translate well to actual practice. In any case, I'm happy to join this game. Just depends what kind of time it ends up being played at. I'm constrained by buses, unfortunately.

Sorry.

I have decided to write up the campaign from the view of my character. Below is our first session I hope its ok because I’m not the best at writing.
My name is zur, I went to the rebel base on Yavin 4 to ask them for help but as soon as I got there the base was attacked by the empire’s Death Star, luckily a young rebel pilot destroyed it with a lucky shot. I fought that would be it so I whet to find the rebel leader but just as I was getting close to the leader a commander came over and said that I was to join a squad, I tried to say that I had to speak to the person in charge but he said that it was very important that I joined the squad so I went with him to find it. When I got to the squad I noticed that it consisted of 2 twilek twins ,Tula and Oola, a human ,Rick, and a ,Kel Dor, Pladruk. Oola wore a black outfit and had a mace by her left side and a pistol on her right. Tula her twin sister also wore a black outfit had a bow on here back, I guess one is good at close combat and the others good at long range combat, they both said that they had been with the rebel alliance for a couple of years. Rick was a medium sized human and wore a rebel alliance uniform, he also had a blaster rifle on his back. He said that he has been with the rebel alliance for a couple of months. Pladruk was a medium size Kel Dor and wore the same uniform as Rick but no one had any idea when he joined the rebel alliance and from which squad he came from, he also looked a bit shifty.
After getting to know each other a bit I noticed that no one knew what was really happening because all the commander had said to us was for us to help the evacuation. So Oola stopped a rebel soldier running past with a bunch of boxes to try to ask him what was happening. He also didn’t know so he went to one of the deck officer to ask. I couldn’t hear them but I could see that the deck officer shouted something at the soldier and the solder ran of so Oola went over to the officer and managed to find out that the empire was attacking and that there were too many ships to defend against so our squad had to help evacuate the base. With this information our squad could finally decide on jobs for people to do. After a while we found out that Tula and Pladruc had pilot training like me so Tula was going to take a transport with Rick and Oola whilst Pladruc and I would take x-wing fighters and protect them.
With our new jobs we went are separate way for a bit Tula, Oola and Rick went to the transports whilst Pladruc and myself went looking for the x-wings. We found them and the deck officer for the area, who was very short with an odd moustache, so we went up to the officer and I said that we wanted to fly the x-wings. He just looked at us and shouted “What have you flown before”. I was taken aback by his attitude and said the first thing that came into my head which was, transports, though I have also flown fighters. The same thing happened to Pladruc. The deck officer said something along the lines of is this all they can spare but he needed extra pilots so he sent us to get our pilot suits on and to chose an Astromech droid. Annoyingly all the had left were rusty R5’s and one of them even had a bullet hole in it’s dome. We both chose the ones that looked the least rusty, Pladruc chose a red one as he said red ones go faster and I chose one of the least rusty ones, though it was still quite rusty compared to most I have seen, so I called it rusty. Pladruc’s droid came to him fine but rusty couldn’t turn left so he took a bit longer to come. Seeing as we were both ready and that the empire was quite close we went as fast as we could to the x-wings, trying to turn left as few times as we could. When we got to them we jumped in and waited for the first transport to take off.

Not bad. If you want some advice on the writing itself - try to write more about how Zur feels about events that have occurred / people he's interacted with / future concerns and goals, et cetera. Not only will it improve the enjoyment for the reader, it'll also help you flesh out his personality in your own mind. Zur has 1 bonus force point on Tuesday's session - if not spent, it expires at the end. I feel this is an appropriate award for good roleplaying, or writing up sessions.
