MAJOR UPDATE:
Please use [square braces] to signify ooc actions for example:
[Going to bed, no more replies from me!]
This way people know to leave your char alone without posting in another thread where it might not be seen. Really minor touch, but important.

Rules
First of all this game uses magical future science! Feel free to try things out that don’t necessarily make any sense and be descriptive. The goal is to solve problems and deal with the consequences of your actions.
The rules are designed to be really open so there are as few restrictions as possible. Try ANYTHING you want, really. Note: you can't do anything to another character without their consent. Though I may rule that rules actions influence other characters.
Base premise:
Using prefabricated buildings try your hand at science (mad or otherwise) in an attempt to reclaim the surface of earth for the humans living in stasis within your facility.
As narrator the effects of what you create on the surface are dictated by me (for sake of rules complexity) but trying to create your solutions is determined by dice at my end. I will explain the outcome, but not necessarily success or failure. Sometimes a failure isn’t immediately apparent until later.
It is possible to die in this game, and buildings may well be destroyed. Between you as a group you should try to decide on certain courses of action.
Game System:
The GM/Narrator/Me rolls for the player. Actions are easy (1-30) moderate (31-50) difficult (51-60) and hard (61+) difficulty. The goal is to roll above the difficulty on a d% (so a difficulty 1 action requires a 2+ whereas a difficulty of 100 requires 101+ which is impossible). Before declaring actions ask and I will tell you the whether the roll is: easy, moderate, difficult or hard.
A character is skilled or unskilled in a skill. Being skilled makes no difference. Being unskilled doubles the difficulty of an action (preventing a player from succeeding at difficult checks).
The kinds of actions that a player can attempt are:
Maintain the nuclear reactor (at the nuclear reactor),
Create radiation scrubbing bacteria (at a cell breeder),
Etc.
Game Turns:
The game is broken up into turns.
Each player can take one turn per day. Each day is a… well day.
A player takes a turn by posting their goal and location in the “Actions” thread. I will process these actions and describe the results later.
A turn is a single action that takes place in a single room and uses a skill. Players can role-play freely within a turn and in any room. A player is considered to be in a room which they took action in when a turn is resolved. If a player doesn’t take action they are assumed to be in habitation. If a player chooses to be in another room then just post that you are choosing to stay in that room in that rooms thread.
Role-play should occur in the rooms thread (e.g. habitation) with the player announcing when they leave and enter a room in the respective thread – this is to help other players understand what’s going on where.
Between the hours of 9pm and 9am I will process the turns and post the results in the “Turn Results” thread. Please do not use the Turn Results thread for anything – that is for my use only.
If I am unable to process a turn then don’t panic! I will have a reason and do them as soon as possible.
