Kavor falls into the other dimension, markus gets a phylactery, not his own of course someone elses, then there's a vampire and an assassin. This update is super brief as it's late so cba right now, also i think it would be better if the players tell the story from their charactes point of view (easier for me and makes for better reading).

Markus figured that it would probably be easy to dismiss his goals and power. One could say he wanted to be a lich because he wanted to be undead. Nay, it is not so. One could say he used Necromancy because he wanted to be powerful. Neither is it so.
His last actions had proven so more than anything. He wanted to be a lich so he could be immortal, undead or not did not matter. Thus he payed no respect to the lich he found in the tower but bent it to his will just like everyone and everything else. He used undead things to achieve his goals but not because they were particularily powerful but because they would show him undying loyalty. Undead were, as far as Markus was concerned, weapons. That Lich may have been a large cannon but he was still just an object which Markus could point in a direction and expect him to carry out his will. They lacked purpose, goals and the powerful will to do what must be done that was reserved for mortal men.
His own theory had proven to be truer than he had expected. The vampire that he had sent to be captured was rendered immobilized and his anklets removed. This, he thought, was the only thing he could do, but because he had evaded capture he had sent him a gift which had significantly shortened his route to lichdom. This vampire sent him a Child of the Night to get his revenge, and ended up giving Markus the greatest gift imagineable.
He had went out searching for a Perfect Black Diamond because he though the alternative; a trustworthy vampire, would be impossible to find. It did not matter that the vampire was a child, nor that it was starved for blood, in fact both of those things just suited his plans better. In any way he could give up his search for that elusive diamond, it seemed to be a lost cause anyhow. With the adamantine on its way the recent recovery of all other neccessary component for his phylactery and the recovery of the other lich's phylactery as a sacrifice it was only a short way ahead now...

My final year project is due in tuesday and i've only just started sorry to cancel two weeks in a row, also since nathan is moving to london we've only got two players, what i suggest is that we run up to the final showdown with the fey then we can make new forum posts to run these characters in and we can do a solo game when we need to more accurately do combat. Then we can start the group back at lvl 3 (get some more players) in a rooted urban adventure based in one of the metropolis islands set in my world, maybe Xing (kinda like china with elements of other asian cultures thrown in) or more likely Lapstov (Eberron adapted for pathfinder and compresed into one place). This will be a strictly good guy adventure no evil alignments, send me a message if your intersted in this lvl 3 adeventure that will probs run on fridays.

The two choices are Xing (yes i did get that name from FMA =] ) or Lapstov so i'll explain better what the campaign will be about and which additional rules will be used, both are set in the same world as There Will be War. Xing is a towering circular strucutre of 35 layers (imagine a giant Tower of Hanoi arangement) and a population of over 20 million people; the bottom 15 levels are farm land, then up from that the city itself, second from the top is The Crystal Court and at the very top the Jade Palace. I haven't got much more than this of it designed so far but what I know for sure is I'll be using Forbidden lore and insanity rules as the players will be rooting out and destroying the corruption that has taken a grip on the city, restoring it to its former glory. Psionics (v3.5 dnd) will be fully available in this campaign, it normally isn't due to an additional requirement i have placed on psionics in this world but you can have achieved it here, i'll explain more if this one is chosen. Lapstov is a collection of floating islands suspended by ancient magic artifacts over a violent ocean and the rain is never ending most days. Great beams of light tether the islands together as they drift about in the winds and one beam of light from the central island penetrates deep down into the ocean floor to keep them in one place. The state provides for all their citzens needs but recently there has been a drop in quality of life and even some failings with people going homeless or hungry. The PC's will be rooting out the corrupt officials and putting a stop to the anarchists diabolic plans. I suggest you search for the Eberron setting and take look for yourself its very cool; the warforged are rememnants from a war with the merfolk who were utterly destroyed (belived to be extinct) in order to take their secret which is said to be locked away in the central vaults somewhere. (warforged are a bit different in their abillities more suited to aquatic environments). The artificer creation pool will be altered because experience is no longer used to create magic items.

Being a brooding villain is no excuse not to have some fun sometimes. The assassin should be busy getting by those triple illusory walls to ge to his prize for a while. Meanwhile he could slip out to create a new cohort. This time to protect him against his former cohort who would probably be slightly angered when he found out what had been done to Mirage. Markus was slightly uncertain wether Lucius would be enough to protect him from Cyric in his new demon form, nevertheless he should prove to be a competent bodyguard, probably powerful enough to take a blow or two while Markus escaped.

Will you make a new thread for the upcoming game? I assume the Eberron Lapstov game is the one we will be likely to run?

Markus entered the solitary area of calm that his study always gave him. He was bleeding all over and he has burns on his robes and hands. It was all temporary he could get the clerics to heal him. Or Lucius should they be occupied. The damage to his ego would take time though. His lust to take another city had led him to trust the wizard and his contraption of war. It had been a mistake he should've anticipated. Victory or no victory he still felt like a loser in the grand scheme of things and he was angry for it.
He glanced over to the right. Something wasn't right. It was just a feeling. He let his finger slide across the backs of his books on the shelf. There was a gap. One book was missing. The book on planar travel if he was not mistaken. Something snapped within Markus as angered turned to rage for the first time in years and he scattered the books across the room in one fell swoop with his arm. He was calm, collected, it would not happen again. A single page note landed in front of him. He picked it up and read it. It was short and concise just as expected of the assassin.
"Hello Markus. You are a very busy man. Therefore it is easy to steal from you. This is why I could not trust you with the spear."
So he found the spear then. Not surprising. Under normal circumstances he would not dignify such a note with a response but he was still frustrated and needed to focus. He procured a pen and turned the note over.
"Keep the spear. It was useless anyhow. Normally I wouldn't forgive someone who stole from me but I can respect a man who tries to make a point. Your logic is flawed. I do not keep this place under lock and key, nor under armed guard. Anyone could easily enter and steal something, yet they don't. If you wonder why take a look to the southeast. That is what becomes of those who betray me, no matter their size. People don't steal from me because they know it will be the last thing they will ever do. They fear me. That is more powerful than any lock or guard I could ever create."
He folded up the note and put it back in its place. If he could steal the book he could.return it. And he would if he knew what was good for him.
((since Ryan does not read the forum could you tell him Matt? Also, will we be playing at all over easter?))

Mine is the 24th. I'm gonna suffer from Markus-withdrawal... Cliffhanger ending too, he just competed his ritual.
EDIT: Now that I think of it, it means you have six days free for planning.

Dying was certainly a peculiar thing. Even as the small girl drained him of his life he wondered if this was what he'd feel like from now on. A flood of cold wasing over him, for all eternity. He felt light-headed. If it wasn't for the fact that he knew Lucius' facial features did not allow for emotion he'd say he looked worried. It struck him that both the girl and Lucius knew what death was like. For some reason probably related to blood-loss he found this very ironic. He felt a disturbing feeling like falling, then his vision vanished as if someone had hit an off-switch.
The experience with the Thanatos-Daemon and the river Styx felt otherwordly and it was. Markus moved through it like a dream. He did not entirely know what was going on but was mostly going on reflex. He knew he had to do something and he knew what it was but nothing was clear enough for him to realize the purpose behind it.
The clarity as he materialized behind the stone pillar was therefore exceptional. Lucius was peering over him. Deja vu. Being a man of few words it was different to hear him take the initiative for conversation.
"Welcome, Lord Kurush the Eternal, I am eager to return to your service. May this world kneel beneath your never-ending rule. Bestow on this humble servant your blessing" He knelt down his head bent in respect.
Markus rose to his feet, realizing that except for feeling different not much of his appereance had changed except for his skin having taken a whiter shade of pale. He looked down on his bodyguard.
"Arise, Lucius Scorchskull, you have my blessing. May your blade serve the rule of this world well."
He opened his senses to the world and felt the experience of being touched by Negative energy flow through him, and suddenly he knew, it was not over yet. No, the ritual had bought him millenia. But he was not yet immortal. If it could this knowledge would pain him, but with this knowledge the solution also came to him and it was indeed beautiful.
((The last part of this post refers to the fact that he has become a dirge lich and gains the ability where he knows everything about any undead. Markus himself is thinking of the Demi-Lich. So, Matt when would you like to run the next game?))

My last exam is the 24th until 12.30 meaning I could probably be at number 95 at 14.00 if that's fine with you. Any time after or at 2 o'clock would be suitable for me.
