Kavor could tell Syver was tired. Even though the weight of him and the lady was nothing for the horse, riding for 13 hours solidly after half a day was hard work. Kavor fed Syver, removed his barding and saddle and let him rest. He was all Kavor had of back home in the highlands, and they were a VERY long way away. Despite the dangers, Kavor missed his homeland. Despite the harshness, he missed the snow, the mountains and forests. He was on a quest though, and he must soldier on no matter what, never surrender and never give up.
Even though Kavor was getting to know this motley crew of adventurers, he still felt out of place. His height, race and upbringing seemed not to suit his new companions. It wasn't the usual out of place feeling he got though. He didn't feel that these people were afraid of him, not all of them seemed to despise his existence either. It was just little things, like having to break up the argument about the monkey, did no one else think it was uncouth? Having to disguise himself far more than any of the others to come into Gazra. It was a no brainer but still, it just edged away at his feeling of fitting in.
Kavor looked at Markus. 'Please, no need to call me that, Kavor will do. Thats more than what I'm used to, let alone Sire. Scum or Beast is what go by generally back at home, at least to my peers anyway... Anyway, enough of that, I proved them wrong... You coped well back there, you rode your horse well and I must apologise for what happened, I only meant to show the appearance of struggle, not to actually pull free... Maybe I don't know my own strength. Did you see the signal fire that was lit? Maybe there'll be another war with Gazra. I could ride with my brethren into battle. How glorious!'
Kavor chuckled to himself. The idea of war seemed very real in this part of the world. Kavor had always grown up being told how Gazra was our enemy and even though Gilliad was no longer at war, his training taught him to be prepared. He relished the idea of war, serving his purpose, proving to the humans what he was capable of. Upholding the Braye family honour. He looked around the campsite. One or two of them seemed fit for war considering they had had no formal training, which worried Kavor, how would they react to command, guidance and fighting in unison with fellow warriors without it. They had proven themselves worthy enough companions though.

The loss of his captive stung worse when Peytr realised that the little shit wore over a metre of rope around him. He hoped that the tribal lady Rasheeda's pet might have been able to swallow the monkey as it followed the procession. Either way, a tool had been lost to blackmail with, and the bitterness spread through him like a plague as he vowed to make his game with Rasheeda more serious.
The feeling in his behind would probably return at some point, but he was just glad to be resting at all. Their ride was gruelling and had cost them their anonymity - something Peytr had felt was more important than the haste.
Kavor had begun speaking, and Peytr noticed his elation about the signal fire and it's possible consequences.
"The ropes were my fault but would have held had you not tried to be smart. Futhermore, we could have sparked a war for all we know. This is a mess".
If Kavor hadn't already proven himself capable with an axe he'd probably have ended up on Peytr's todo list as well. He scratched his chin stubble and thought to himself a little.
"They'll be more alert now, I'm not sure movement cross county will be easy from here".

Markus was only vaguely aware of the discussion as he closed his eyes. He weakly mumbled "Sir Kavor it is then" before his mind was set adrift. In the back of his mind he heard fractions of what Peytr said. "War"
For his inner eye he saw armies clashing together; terrrified front line soldiers slashing wildly with their swords in front of them hitting friends and foes alike. Blood gushing out of every artery, vein and limb covering other soldiers in blood, sweat, tears, urine and every other fluid he could imagine. He saw wounded warriors on their knees trying to hold their intestines in place with their hands before they were trampled to death by their peers. He heard the agonizing cries of thousands as they lost their most dear belonging. Like a hole losing its bottom, the only thing they had. Their life.
Trust, chivalry, honour, valor like they said the battle plan were all casualties of war. And the aftermath; that pristine silence he had felt when he killed his master. That perfect stillness that satisfied every hair, bone, inch and cell of his body multiplied by a thousand for all the bodies on the battlefield. A sea of corpses stretching as far as the eye can reach and for what? No general, king or lord hesitated to send hundreds of young men straight into eternity to grasp the central theme of politics, conflict and social interactions. It was all for power. Death, power, war the triumvirate that made Markus muse.
That sea, it was trash to everyone, a bad memory of a nightmare, of hell but to Markus it would be his most valued place. His playground. For his hellish games. There would be an army unlike any other for whoever wanted it. How far would they go? Markus was ready to offer them their power. All he needed in return was their humanity...
Focus came easy to Markus, but not this night. Dreams, sleep and peace did not come easy to Markus, but this night they all did. With a smile on his lips sleep came over him, caught him in its arms and carried him away to a long peaceful rest.

Kara was tired and ill tempered when she came in to camp. Her fur was coated in river sludge, her paws soggy and her claws dulled by the wet. Growling and hissing at her surroundings she came up to Rasheeda.
Rasheeda immediately brought out her blanket and started rubbing Kara down. She felt bad for bringing her friend so far from the warmth of their homeland, but it was necessary and Kara had come of her own free will. Though that journey on the ship was not something she wanted to do again. She had yet to tell Kara that they needed to go aboard a ship to get back home again.
Creating some water she gently washed Karas fur and rubbed it dry. The cat's giant paws were bigger than Rasheedas both hands as she picked the thorns and caked dirt from between the pads. When the lioness was as dry as could be she curled up in the blanket and fell asleep.
Rasheeda brought out her tattooing kit and started mixing the right herbs. The tattoos covering her arms and face were the mark of her trade, part welcoming, part warning and everywhere she went in her homeland awe inspiring. They were however not completely permanent and needed to be touched up on every so often. And as tradition decreed there was nothing better to include in the ink than the fresh blood of an enemy felled by your own hand.
Tentatively, she brought out the vial of blood she had collected from the guards they ambushed and added it to the earthenware bowl. The blood from the drake had given her strange sensations, almost a burning feeling. She wondered how the blood of a male from these lands would feel on her skin. Applying some of the finished ink on her long, claw like nails she started filling in the shapes covering her arms, and with the nails drawing some of her own blood - as would any shaman worth her salt.

The plan went about as well as Cadwgan expected. He had prayed for the guards, but didn't fret over it much. Such things are necessary in battle.
The knight was talking some crap about the glories of war, whatever they may be. He seemed to think that, because he had come out alive from 3 skirmishes where his enemies were massively outnumbered, he was invincible. If we're lucky, Cadwgan thought, we won't have to find out.
Peytr didn't seem half as arrogant as he had a few days before. He was blathering on about war as well, about how they had probably started one. This seemed unlikely to Cadwgan, and he said as much.
"All they know about us is our numbers. They don't know where we're from, or why we're here. They won't have accurate descriptions of us either. There is no way that we have started a war."
With this Cadwgan went into his tent, prayed, and went to sleep.

OK... Yeah, the Death knight is a bit too awesome. Yeah, pretty much more awesome than the Lich even.
HD: d12 future and current
A death knight gains +5 natural armor.
Touch attack 1d8+cha bonus and 1 con damage. Will save 20+cha modifier + 1/2 of death knight level halfs damage
Special abilities: Abyssal blast blast with a 20 foot radius anywhere within 400 feet range + 40 feet per HD deals 1d6 damage per HD of the death knight up to 20d6. Half is fire and half is divine damage. can not be reduced by spells that reduce damage from fire. Reflex save halfs damage (DC 10+ 1/2 death knight HD + cha modifier).
Fear Aura: Creatures with less than 5 HD close to the death knight must succeed a will save (10+ 1/2 death knight HD + Cha modifier) or be feared as with a fear spell being cast by a sorcerer at the death knight's level.
Undead Followers: The death knight attracts undead within a 200 mile radius up to double its HD. 1d6 Ghouls 1d4 ghasts 1d12 medium skeletons and 1d4 wights arrive monthly OR 1d12 medium zombies per week.
Damage reduction 15. Immunity to cold, electricity and polymorph.
A Death knight has the ability to summon a mount (usually a nightmare) at half of the HD of the death knight. If the mount dies he may summon it again after one year and one day.
A death knight is immune to turn undead.
A death knight gains undead traits
A death knight gains +4 strength and +2 charisma and loses its constitution score.
Wanna make this less overpowered please?

It's not class. It's a template. Basically you'd have to have a Lich turn you into it. The level adjustment is +5.
You'd continue to gain levels and feats as per your usual class.

So basically, I stay as I am, apart from those changes, and I have to get enough XP as if I were 5 levels higher... I could handle that...

It is true. You could handle that. The problem is that if those changes were made it would take five levels for other party members to reach up to your level of power. If you take the other way around (as I will with Markus) and lose the amount of levels according to level adjustment you would lose five levels. Which is a lot. Concerning the lich it is not as bad as he only has a level adjustment of +2.

My own suggestion:
HD: d12 future and current
A death knight gains +5 natural armor.
Touch attack 1d8+1 per second HD possessed by the death knight
Special abilities: Fear Aura: Creatures with less than 5 HD close to the death knight must succeed a will save (10+ 1/2 death knight HD + Cha modifier) or be feared as with a fear spell being cast by a sorcerer at the death knight's level.
Damage reduction 15/ Bludgeoning and magic. Immunity to cold and electricity.
A Death knight has the ability to bind to a summoned nightmare horse to be used as its steed.
A death knight gains undead traits
A death knight gains +4 strength and +2 charisma and loses its constitution score.
I remove the special abilities (cause frankly they were annoying too) to bring it down to the level (almost) of the lich. I added some exceptions to the DR and added thre requirement to summon the steed to bind to it, also it no longer miraculously comes back to life. it is still slightly more powerful than the lich (HD d12 and the nightmare) so maybe its level adjustment should be +3.

Beginning next session Markus will start research to create a spell:
Markus' Undead Disguise School: illusion Level: ? Sorcerer Casting time: 1 standard action Range: Touch Target: Self or other, single target Duration: 24 hours and 20 minutes Effect: The target of this spell must be undead. When succesfully cast an illusion is created around it that looks like the undead creature would have, had it been its original form still.
How many weeks would it take to create and what spell level would it be? Furthermore, how much gold would he have to pay per week?
