Pulling the cable could lead to it breaking so I head back the way I came to try and find where its stuck.

At the barracks:For now Fawkes decides to help Dr. Morgan with his mates. "The oxigen level is going down rapidly. You're very lucky to still be standing, Corporal Fawkes." — the Doctor tells him. At the bridge:The professor's best chance would be to do a copy of the s-mail and try to read it later on. For now there's lots of things calling for his attention: the repairs were done but apparently the cause for the loss of oxigen at the barracks was not caused by the impact with the micro-asteroid but by a command of the own Cheyenne's CPU. What now? At the canteen:From the intercom — Lieutenant Marshal, Lieutenant Marshal. This is your Captain speaking. Please report to the observation module imediately. Private Lien is waiting with orders for you.At the airlock observation module:After talking with the Captain Lien can now devote his full attention to what's happening outside the ship: "Hang in there, Tool!" — trying to incite him. At the outer space:After deciding to go back, Tool finds that, despite all his training inside the ship he had still much to learn when outside... He had almost turned his cable into a knot, but by carefull observation and handling he manages to get it loose from the antenna it was stuck on, but not to untie the whole knot. He had another tough decision to make: to try and stretch the cable in order to squeeze through (Escape Artist check) or to keep unlacing the cable (literally moving the knut from one place of the cable to its end) until reaching the outer gate (Dexterity check). Or, again, try something more drastic/any other plan? At the bridge:Sargent-Tech Isamu: "Captain, sir. We've just lost all communications with USS Cressida!"

I try to get the attention of any senior officer (to get me the captain), whilst rummaging through the computers trying to find out the precise reasons as to why we are loosing oxygen (the when and the how and the why).

I immediatley leave the canteen and make my way to the observation module with all haste. "Private Lien, report. I'm told orders for me have been left with you."

"I've had some experience working in low oxygen environments." I say with a casual disinterest as I help another soldier to a bench.
The doctor probably wouldn't imagine the cause for this experience included an escap from a burning building, low oxygen is often one of the lower priorities in those situations.

Trying to keep calm I think through my options (Quickly). Squeezeing through could lead to a breakeges in the cable and ive not had much practise in escaping through tight spaces so im going to have to keep unlacing the cable.

At the barracks:Fawkes was trying to help Dr. Morgan the best he could but his inexperience with first aid were more of a setback than support. He tried to catch his breath and did so without any discomfort. Still, he was starting to feel like he was of no help here. At the bridge:Sargent-Tech Isamu: "Captain, sir. We've just lost all communications with USS Cressida!" This new information was taking all the attention of Captain Laycock, so the professor decided to devote his full attention to the data he was receiving on his screen. But all he was learning was even more scary: the CPU's protocol had been breeched by an external entity (but from within this vessel) that lowered the levels of oxigen specifically for the barracks to an alarming low concentration. At the airlock observation module:Lien assists Lieutenant Marshall by helping him donning his space suit and measuring his vitals. His orders were to help on getting the Tool back inside. To do so he would have to depressurize before going into an open room to the emptiness of space. At the outer space:Despite all his efforts, Tool was progressing only a couple of meters each minute. All the anxiety he was putting into the task converged to a point where he started to hiper-ventilate* and wouldn't budge.

I sit for a while processing the information I just received. I then stand up and walk over to the captain, with a face just like a grumpy old man.
"Now listen here you, you wanted me to do a job and so I did it, so don't waltz around looking all important when I got something to say because quite frankly I'm too old to care about your rank and reason.
The computers are flashing up with this error and that error and I have no idea whats going on half the time. However, what I do know is that our systems are being compromised by someone on the ship. So go order a peon or something to look into it while I go get a cup of tea!"
With that said I walk on out and head over to the canteen to grab a cuppa.
Computers and technology make me grumpy at the best of times.

When my helmet is fixed in position I try to get Tool on the radio (assuming the suits have them), "Tool, this is Lieutenant Marshal. Try to remain calm, I'm suiting up to come assist you. You'll be back in the ship again in no time." Fully suited up, I head into the airlock to start the depressurisation process.

At the bridge:Captain Laycock was startled, at best, with the Professor's explosion and ordered Tech-Sargent Isamu to take over by his station. At the canteen:The Professor would find himself in the company of Lucia Rei, more adept of coffee... black. Professor Hemmingway, isn't it? Is something bothering you? — she begins. At the airlock observation module:Once the depressurisation finishes your cable rolls into the next room through the lade and, after a few seconds (that almost felt like hours) the outer gate slides wide open. And, despite the amazing sight that that was, Lieutenant Marshall was already thinking on what to do next. What will it be? If you have any question send me an email before answering. At the outer space:After hearing the voice of his superior, Tool started to quiet down. But his inactivity would soon prove dangerous as the cable got pressed into a nut again.

Seeing that I'll be of little use here I head off to the other areas to see if any other places could do with assistance.
(This would probable be the armory (or whatever the nearest thing to that is on our ship) so that's the direction I'm going)

I turn and smile at Ms Rei.
"No, no my dear, nothing's bothering me as such. Though I'll let you in on a little secret. I have a feeling the group of us brought on this mission are not being told the full truth. Just something I saw on the computer."
I flash the copy of on s-mail.
"What was it you do again? Pardon an old man for forgetting."
I spend a while just talking to her, small stuff, job's, family etc. just to get to know her better.
(Would the copy have been on CD, a drive? What do we have nowadays?)

Not wanting to do anything too risky yet, I head over to Tool and attempt to untangle the cable myself, knowing full well that if this fails I'll have to try something more drastic.

At the armory:Fawkes didn't have to go far to get to the armory which also doubles as "parking lot" for the M577 APC (armored personnel carrier). This is quite the machinery! Not that Fawkes likes driving, but he does like mechanics and stuff. Anyway, the demolition equipment is stashed on the other side of the room - a bit cramped in there, but there's still room to squeeze through if he wants to. At the canteen:(Nowadays you use WI-SK (read whiskey). Meaning wireless disk. I can't image how the name stuck in the first place... but then again, who knows?)Apparently she is here against her will. This wasn't what I signed up for. — she reveals, a bit bored. At the outer space:The Lieutenant manages to propel himself only the right amount of distance as to secure himself between the Tool's cable and the ship's hull. Still he has no visual on Tool, as he is on the opposite side of this concavity. This took him some time so, in order to fasten his progress he has two choices: to climb "up" using Tool's cable (Strength check), or to make use of the propulsion unit (Pilot checks). Tool felt the vibrations on his cable: It must be the Lieutenant, he thought, and yet again he concentrated his efforts on the nut. But things were worsening for his side and the nut was now even tighter. He could almost feel the lack of oxigen already... (I shouldn't be saying this but: use your Action Points people! Give a look at the house rules section.)
