Roll it. Use this website for dice rolls. For example, a health roll would look like this, since you get your first hit die as maximum. I should say that if I ask you to post dice results, I expect a link to the website, not a copy/paste.

A crowd had gathered around the Giant. He was unlike any other giant anyone had seen. He was unlike any being anyone had seen. Standing at 9 foot tall, with pitch black skin and a silver mane of flowing hair and a well trimmed, pinstripe beard, he was a strange sight. If his hight wasn't intimidating enough he was nearly the same size wide, his arms bulged twice the width of a mans waist, his chest more robust than a tree trunk. The crowd were keeping their distance. He had appeared over night and was just standing at the edge of the pit. Motionless, silent, meditating. He was holding a stance of extreme power. His feet seemed rooted into the ground like a mountain, his hands, tense with power, almost crackling with energy, his eyes closest, his fangs showing. He stood there for hours. Waiting.
A young girl stepped into the space between the crowd and the giant. She walked up to the looming presence and tugged at his robes saying "Mister! Mister! Are you going to go across? Go on mister, I know you can do it!" His eyes opened instantly and his head started to turn to face the girl, body unmoving. He faced the child and bared the fangs in his mouth. The child stepped back, and froze, paralysed with fear. The Giant turned his face back to the cathedral.
What happened next was only fully realised two days later when a magical divination was cast to slow down the time and watch it over again. The crowd only heard 4 noises in quick succession.
*GLUG* *CRACKLE* *FWOOSH* *THUD*
Glug - The giant had managed to reach into his pouch with one hand, pull out a bottle of wine and take a large glug, all faster than we could see. Crackle - While doing this, he had smacked the young girl in the face, with a hand so fast it crackled with electricity. Fwoosh - He let into the air and started to turn into a cloud of gas, right before our eyes. Thud - The girl's body hit the ground, lifeless.
The cloud, vaguely resembling the giant drifted across the chasm, until it reached the cathedral. The crowd was speechless. Upon landing not half a minute later, he returned to his Giant form and waited. He stood there another day, meditating. The same stance. The next day he was gone. Presumably he went into the test of the startstone.
And that was the last known account of Onigrim Thunderfist, Master of the four winds, sacred mountain and drunken boar styles. It has been several weeks now since he disappeared, let us hope he does not complete the test, for surely an evil and strength like his can only bring sorrow should it reach godhood.

After the somewhat.. auspicious performance by the Giant, the assembled masses were surprised, to say the least, by the appearance of the next challenger for the pit.
In stark contrast, the second to step forward was roughly a third of the Giant's height - an auburn-haired, green-eyed Halfling, carrying with him an impressive amount of weaponry and an air of light-hearted bemusement.
An occasional guffaw arose, as chuckling skimmed through the crowd - was a mere Halfling seriously going to attempt what so many Humans had failed?
He must have heard, for he turned away from the gap scornfully. He must have walked a full 30-paces back before, without warning, he stopped dead in his tracks, turned and unslung one of two spears he was carrying, before pointing it back the way he came.
The spectators flinched back, seeing raw determination in his eyes. He charged. The crowd was moments from scattering, when he plunged the tip deep into the earth, catapulting himself into the air!
My, how he soared! With such little weight, he managed to power himself in a flying arc, punctuated by a series of mid-air rolls.
Such grace! The crowd erupted with applause, seeing this little one's valiant attempt.
But then he landed. Sadly, it was not quite as acrobatic as the flight, and he plowed face-first into the earthen bank on the other side, much to the people's delight. Attempting to save what little face he still had, the small one scampered to his feet amidst their jeering and scurried into the Cathedral.
So it came to pass that Halfling Kaleb Greendale entered the Test.

Surely you must have gotten something wrong for a 20th level character... have you got power attack and vital strike feats and such? My monk, without using ANY feats, minimum is 4d8 + 1d6 + 17 damage... When using all feats and powers and abilities and such, the absolute max I can do 1249 damage with an average of 956 if everything hits... That is much more on what 20th level characters should be capable of...
My average for a single attack is 118 with a max of 185, My average for a flurry of blows damage is 82 with a max of 121 (could be slightly higher but only on two attacks)

My DM sense is tingling. I believe Mr. Thunderfist will find that the Test of the Starstone will not test his physical capabilities so much as his mental.

Now, now, Nathan. We all know the main reason for my existance is to poke fun at your optimized character builds accidental (Grok) or otherwise (Marcius). I have come to the conclusion that I best make my own character for this test. Of course, because I want to see what the most ridiculous way I can fail is.

it did occur to me last night that if I had gone wizard and gone up to 36 int, i would have up to 320 skill ranks to spend. Now that is utility...

Armand sat down with his legs dangling over the edge. It was indeed a very long way down. He had come here on a pilgrimage to see the large cathedral that was now in front of him. He thanked Iomedae for protecting him so he could get this far and Shelyn for his fortune and the beauty of this place.
He had heard that some would breach this gap to take the Test of the Starstone and become Gods or Goddesses. Such trials were not for him. Once, back when he still worked for the city watch, he had thought he was responsible enough to wield great power but it had only lead him to ruin. Since 15 years back he now lived with a holy oath never to kill a living creature.
He was incredibly fortunate to be able to see one of the fortune-seekers that would enter the test. An impressive man, in both stature and power it would seem. When he moved, he did so at lightning speed, and Armand had to use his full attention span to see what actually happened. Soon the cries of despair from the parents of the little girl struck dead filled the air.
This was very troublesome. Before Armand even had time to react the enormous man had entered the test. Armand rose and walked over to the little one. The parents didn't even look at him, still trying to shake life into the girl. "It was far too early for this one to die. I will breathe life into her once more" He leant over the girl and soon she coughed and started to breathe again. "Take care of her, if she is precious to you, and don't let her speak to strangers. Especially not dangerous strangers.
Armand spied over to the other side of the chasm. The large man seemed to stand there, unmoving. Had the reality of his act, perhaps caught up with him? No, it seemed unlikely as he was facing the cathedral, rather than the girl, or the crowd. Maybe he thought he was not up to the task before him? Did he have second thoughts?
Armand once again sat down with his leg dangling over the chasm. He was still hoping the giant would turn back and turn himself in for his crime. If he showed remorse then the Gods might forgive him, as after Armand's interaction his deed was undone. Deep in his mind Armand knew this was not the case, but he remained an optimist and hoped he was meditating about it.
At some point Armand must have fallen asleep as next he opened his eyes the Giant was gone. Armand sighed heavily. He was left with no choice, and so he walked on the winds across the chasm to, unwillingly, enter the Test of the Starstone.
