What if I was to start a Play-by-Post campaign using the d20 Modern rules (and d20 Past) for the first half of the 20th century...? The year: 1947. The place: American continent. The scenario: hint. Would anyone be interested!? [max. 4 players]

Step 1: OccupationLets first choose the occupation of your character. Think of it as a general description of your character's profession. Choose up to three, by order of preference, from the following list: - Academic
- Adventurer
- Athlete
- Blue Collar
- Celebrity
- Creative
- Doctor
- Emergency Services
- Investigative
- Military
- On the Run
- Primitive
- Student
- Technician
We'll have to wait for other players to join in so lets do this gradually. But we can discuss the pros/cons of your choices while we wait...

Well, it will work kind of like this: - First we handle the character creation. You pick the specifics of your character and I'll pick the background stuff and handle the mechanics. I've learnt by trial and error that this is the better way to speed the process.
- Then we start with the first chapter. We choose a day in the week (probably two) for me to post new stuff and then you reply to that with what your character will do.
- And that's it! We'll probably do 2 or 3 chapters...
Did I said that you'd pick the specifics of your character? Oh, yes I did - so choose your Occupation already!

Ok, we have the 4 players and we're almost ready to go! Lets just try and help holloway do his decision. hollowaydeth monkee - might that be a journalist that used to be a war correspondent? (the scientist will be taken by tonu) tonu - is that a biologist or a paleontologist? Anyway, I'll write the Prologue later on if you think this will also help you decide.

Can't really be a paleontologist if the extinct are no longer extinct now can I? ;D. I'll be a biologist.

Step 2: ClassNow that we know what you've been doing, let pick your stereotype. We'll start as 2nd-level characters, so you have the option to be multiclassed if you want to. For those not familiar with d20 Modern, we only have 6 classes: - Strong hero
- Fast hero
- Tough hero
- Smart hero
- Dedicated hero, and
- Charismatic hero
Let me give you some suggestions... aturin - This will depend on your occupation choice, but I think I could give you some help there. You could whether go with Tough/Strong (adventurer or blue collar) or Smart/Strong (technician). deth monkee - You might want to multiclass. I would say Dedicated/Smart (if you're just a simple newspaper man) of Dedicated/Fast or Dedicated/Tough (if you've seen war and survived to tell the tale). holloway - Depending on your occupation I think you should go with Tough/Fast (athlete), Tough/Charismatic (celebrity) or Tough/Dedicated (emergency services). tonu - I think you'd be better off as Smart hero. Let me know what you think of it. Further choices on the road...
